Vidya says no to Satte Pe Satta

Vidya Balan

Vidya Balan

Vidya Balan is all set to make a guest appearance in Akshay Kumar starrer Thank You and Abhishek Bachchan’s Dum Maaro Dum. The actress who is enjoying the success of her film ‘No One Killed Jessica’, has also bagged award for movies like Paa and Ishqiya for her outstanding performance. Vidya Balan who was considered to pair alongside South Indian superstar Rajinikanth in the upcoming flick Rana had turned down the offer due to the lack of essence in her character.

Meanwhile the actress has got even more choosy and consequently stepped out of Soham Shah’s much hyped film Satte Pe Satta remake. Earlier actor Sanjay Dutt was obstinate that Vidya Balan could fit into the bill with an incomprehensible easiness but that wasn’t the matter. The vivacious lass thought she didn’t have enough talent in her to fill the gap of the most talented and honourable actress Hema Malini‘s character that she played in the original Satte Pe Satta. Vidya had also announced that there was no way the remake could reprise the old classic. Estimating a movie’s destiny is indeed some element to talk wildly about.

Isn’t it guys? Now the filmmaker is facing problem in hunting appropriate female lead who would do full justice to the role. As reported, the actress will be appearing in “Chenab Gandhi”, directed by Vibhu Puri and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, which revolves around Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, also called as Frontier Gandhi. And till January 2011, Vidya Balan will feature in “Dirty Picture”, which is said to be a biopic based on the life and death of Soth Indian actress Silk Smitha. A long way to go in Bollywood, the actress has however proved even in short span of time your hard work can lead you the path of success!!

Sanjay Vidya Pairing Rocks

Parineeta (2005 film)
Image via Wikipedia

Bollywood industry had seen different types of pairs over 60 years of bollywood’s history. Raj Kapoor and Nargis were sublime during the black and white era, when most of film shooting used to take place
within studios. Dilip Kumar and Vaijayantimala’s films started during black and white era and continued during the era of coloured films. Films like Leader had locations, rich music, powerful dance sequences,
etc. in addition to online chemistry of Dilip Kumar and Vaijayantimala.

Sanjay Dutt and Vidya Balan form one type of such an unique pair who had been accepted by the viewers of bollywood films. The pair has acted in two films together both big hits. Sanjay Dutt got the scope of
performing opposite Vidya Balan at middle-age as opposed to his performance opposite Madhuri Dixit in during his young age in films like Thanedaar, Saajan, Khalnayak, etc.

In Pradeep Sarkar’s Parineeta, Sanjay Dutt’s role was based on the character of a middle aged person who was considerate about the family of Parineeta. Although Vidya Balan was attached with Saif Ali Khan
according to the classic literature of Sarat Chandra Chatterji, Sanjay Dutt’s contribution was even greater in the film than Saif Ali Khan. All the songs in the film composed by Shantanu Moitra ended up being super hit, including Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal’s song “piyu bole”.

Lage Raho Munnabhai was probably the greatest hit film of Sanjay Dutt in his entire career. He was a bhai ( underworld don) who pretended to be a Professor and impressed Vidya Balan who was attached to an old-age home. He impressed her with his knowledge on Gandhiji. Mahatma
Gandhi’s soul instructed Sanjay Dutt to follow his path related to ahimsa.

The romance in the film was related to matured level of understanding. Sonu Nigam’s song “pal pal pal pal pal pal”, was a landmark hit.

The viewers are looking forward to more films of Vidya Balan with Sanjay Dutt, as the pair had shown matured level of performance which touched the hearts of millions of viewers all across the world. Sanjay
Dutt these days had restricted himself in acting in action films, so if he signs romantic films, the producers and directors should think about Vidya Balan looks better than any other actress of bollywood
industry.

Vidya denies rumours of link-up with Vivek

Vidya balan
Image via Wikipedia

Poor Vivek Oberoi, he’s being dumped this time again… and that too by Vidya Balan, who has had the frequent experiences of alleged link-ups. Vidya, who’s been linked to almost every actor that she has worked with from Sanjay Dutt and John Abraham to Shahid Kapoor, is not having any of this.

She’s not even working with Vivek, so Vidya was anxious to bid a nix to this romance rumour in the bud. The twosome have hardly met each other and these news have cropped from nowhere.

The actor, who’s not had a film since the disastrous Mission Istanbul last year, has been getting a lot of press lately because of an alleged link-up with the Kismet Konnection actress.

Vivek has also been in news for his romantic link-up with Ashwairya Rai that met a tragic end

Vidhya Balan is still single!!!

Vidya Balan

When the lady in question was asked this question, why so? She says maybe we will have to ask the good looking men in Bollywood as to why this serene beauty is still single. Vidya Balan who shot to fame with ‘Parineeta‘ which also had Saif Ali Khan and Sanjay Dutt in the lead says it was not quite easy for her to reach the spot where she is right now.

Ms. Balan has been linked romantically with every co-star she has acted with. When she did Salaam-E-Ishq she was linked with her co-star in the film John Abraham. In ‘Kismat Connection‘ she was linked with her co-star Shahid Kapoor. Asked if she was romantically involved with Shahid the actress strongly denies. She says in a TV interview, if she actually was linked with all her co-stars then she should be a person to wear her heart on her sleeve, which she is not! So the rumors must be rumors with no amount of truth.

Soon Vidya will be busy shooting for ‘Chenab Gandhi‘ with debutant director Vibhu Puri. The script for this film has been penned by Bhavani Iyer. Vidhya will be acting alongside Amithabh Bachchan and Harman Baweja for this film which will revolve around the life of Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan, better known as Frontier Gandhi. Saregama India is all set to co-produce Sanjay Leela Bhansali (SLB) Productions’ She will also be doing another project with Papa Bachchan and Abhishek. This project has still not been named.

Vidya, wishing you good luck in your films in 2009!!
